John A. Logan College is seeking a dedicated instructor who places student learning and student success as top priorities.
The candidate will be responsible for teaching computer and information systems courses as well as courses in the following areas: computer forensics, cybersecurity, network security, network administration, server and security management, wireless/mobile networking, digital forensics, databases, data security, and cloud computing, as needed. The faculty member will serve as a liaison between the College and the information systems/computer science community and will work closely with employers to meet local workforce needs. Instructional responsibilities also include: course development, updating and submission of course syllabi in required format, assessment of student outcomes, conducting program review, development of resources for instruction, including those for online learning, and timely submission of student grades and progress. The faculty member will be required to complete CCNA certification along with CCNA teaching certification within one year of being hired. To accommodate the growing program and the needs of students, the position may include evening and/or weekend classes. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to post and maintain office hours, recruit students to the program, participate fully in departmental duties, institutional committees, and activities as assigned. The candidate is also expected to represent the College credibly with respect to any of its activities, and observe, support, and enforce the regulations, policies, and programs of the College.Qualifications
Requires an associate degree in computer forensics, information technology, or closely related field plus current security+ certification or CEH; minimum of one year experience in: network systems administration LAN design, LAN/WAN routing and switching using CISCO equipment, Windows/Linux OS, Microsoft Server 2012R2. Bachelor’s degree in computer forensics, information technology, or closely related field plus CCNA, CEH, or NET+; community college teaching experience, Palo Alto switches, cloud computing, CISCO administration of layer 3 routers and switches is preferred.Salary
Starting salary is determined by educational level and teaching experience per contract salary schedule, and opportunities exist for overload and summer teaching.Benefits

Faculty are covered under a 9-month contract period (August thru May) and are required to teach a minimum of 15 credit hours and serve eight office hours per week for student consultation in fall and spring semesters. Additional teaching opportunities with compensation may be available in the summer semester.
