This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in developing, teaching, and promoting all aspects of a competitive NJCAA men’s basketball program. The position is responsible for practice and game day coaching, recruitment and retention of student athletes, counseling student athletes regarding athletic, academic, and social issues, academic instruction and integrity, and program promotion and fundraising. The assistant coach oversees the handling of administrative details of the group and team coordinator, such as travel, transportation, scheduling, and other logistics. The position acts as head coach in his/her absence and supervises lower level coaches as directed by the head coach. The individual acts as a representative of JALC to promote the College in a positive light within the community and nation-wide by recruiting first-class student athletes and by coaching and guiding them to the best of their abilities. Other duties as assigned.


Requires a high school diploma or GED; two years' experience playing or coaching basketball.  Bachelor's degree; two years' experience coaching college men's basketball is preferred.
