Description:
The Building Maintenance worker will perform general repairs to the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience in building maintenance
- Special Requirements: A valid Illinois driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Essential Functions & Position Duties
- Perform repairs on boilers, air distribution, temperature control, electrical, lighting, pump and motor, plumbing, and domestic water and refrigeration system
- Perform routine and periodic preventative maintenance procedures on boilers, air distribution, temperature control, electrical, lighting, pump and motor, plumbing, and domestic water and refrigeration systems
- Complete operation, maintenance, and daily work logs for all building systems equipment preventative maintenance and / or repairs
- Assist with system equipment repair, inventory, custodial, and grounds maintenance as needed
- Communicate effectively via radio and telephone
- Read and follow printed instructions and directions for equipment and chemicals
- Comprehend and participate in required training programs
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, stooping, and reaching
- Must have a full range of physical motion, as required to operate manual and electric power tools properly
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
- Must be able to lift, maneuver, and carry 50 pounds
- Will work in a variety of environments and weather conditions
