CARTERVILLE - The creative talents of John A. Logan College art students are currently on display in the college’s B Wing and Conference Center Galleries as Logan hosts its annual Student Art Exhibition through Saturday, May 10.  The show is free and open to the public.  Viewing hours are 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Adrienne Barkley Giffin, director of student activities and cultural events at Logan, helped organize the exhibit.

“There are about 40 pieces in the show from a variety of genres including drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and other media,” Giffin said. “The pieces on display were all created by students in their art classes this year, and the work is excellent.  There is some very impressive work in the show.”

Giffin encourages people to see the exhibit.

“I hope a lot of people take the opportunity to come and see the show and support the students,” she said.  “If someone sees something they really like, students are often willing to sell their artwork.”

The exhibition is also a competition and the awards ceremony will be held this Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Skylight Lounge at JALC.
