CARTERVILLE – Twenty-five art awards were presented to area high school students following a competition Tuesday hosted by John A. Logan College.

Placing first in Drawing was Haley Barrett of Carbondale. Katy Whitledge of Carterville was second and Cecilia Albert-Black of Carbondale was third.

Earning a first in Other Media 2D was Courtney Crabtree of Johnston City. Placing second was Hannah Tate of Carterville and Natasha Williams with Brehm Prep in Carbondale was third.

Notching a first-place finish in Painting was Olivia Dehaan of Brehm Prep. Mataya Frey of Herrin was second and Mags Peterson of Brehm Prep was third.

Finishing first in Computer Art was Dylan Collins of Brehm Prep. Liv Dehaan of Brehm Prep was second and David Orange of Marion was third.

Bringing home a first in Photography was Zach Thompson of Brehm Prep. Daniel Cohen of Brehm was second and Dylan Wilson of Brehm was third.

Earning a first in Ceramics was Samantha Goodale of Carbondale. Jazmine Logan of Carbondale finished second and another piece by Goodale was third.

First place in sculpture went to Mattie Rametta of Johnston City. Bailey Koval of Marion was second and Ryan Bushur of Carbondale was third.

In the Other Media 3D competition, Anton Love of Carbondale placed first. Andrew Iubelt-Rankin of Carbondale was second and Mataya Frey of Herrin was third.

Awarded “Best of Show” at the Logan competition was Payton Landes of Marion.
