The John A. Logan College Board of Trustees honored outgoing members Mike Hopkins, John Sanders, and student trustee Kayla Malone at their March meeting. With the April 5 election approaching this marked the final meetings for Hopkins, who is not seeking a second full-term on the board, and Malone who will graduate from JALC in May and will be replaced by Brandi Husch, who was recently elected and will be seated in April. Sanders resigned his position after 18 years on the board prior to the meeting to except an appointment to the Illinois Board of Education. Sanders will still appear on the election ballot, but will not be eligible to complete his term if elected.

Board Chairman Jake Rendleman, who was first elected along with Sanders in 1997 praised each of them for their service to the board.

“I want to think you for your outstanding service to the College. It has been a pleasure to serve with each of you we have all benefited from working with you,” said Rendleman.
