INA - Tyler Horchem and Tyler Robertson banged out five hits each and Nate Tholl chipped in four to lead the John A.  Logan College baseball team to a 12-9 win in 13"innings over Rend Lake Friday in the first game of a doubleheader.

The Volunteers also won the nightcap, 8-3.

With the sweep, the Vols improve to 13-8 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and 18-14 overall.

Wimning pitcher in Game 1 was freshman Matthias Dietz who tossed five scoreless innings to close out the game In relief of Bobby Pennington and Gabe Jelley.
Jeff Hahs, Kyle Schneider and Doug Parks contrubuted three hits to the Vols'atrack.

in Game 2, future Saluki Joey Marciano went the distance for Logan. He struck out seven and scattered seven hits.
Schneider paced the offense with three hits. Culver Plant and Robertson added two hits each.

Logan takes on Jefferson College at 2 p.m. Monday at SIU in a single game.
