CARTERVILLE – The newest recruit for the John A. Logan College men’s basketball team is sophomore guard transfer, Will Robinson.

Robinson is a 6-foot-3 shooting guard who graduated Chicago Phillips High School in 2014 and played his freshman year at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas.

“I wanted to get a little closer to home and think Logan is a good fit for me,” Hill said. “I like the school and have already been treated like family.”

Hill averaged five points a game at Hill, which advanced to the Final Four at the National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament last March.

“Will is a big, athletic wing player who can really shoot the ball,” said Vols fourth-year head coach Kyle Smithpeters. “We’re fortunate to get a player of his caliber this late in the recruiting season. The experience he gained last season should prove invaluable this year. Players who have already been exposed to 10 or 11 months of college ball allows us to move forward as a program faster. He did a good job at Hill and we expect him to do a good job here, too.”

Robinson described himself as “athletic and hard-nosed.”

“My main focus is defense. That’s what wins games,” he said. “I’m excited about this new opportunity at Logan and can’t wait to get going.”
