DECATUR - The John A. Logan College women's golf team placed sixth out of the 15-team Millikin University Fall Classic at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur.

Logan was one of only two junior college teams competing in the tournament that featured 13 four-year schools.

The Vols turned in rounds of 344 and 331 for a combined score of 675. The 331 total was better than any score the school posted all of last school year.

Top individual player was sophomore Adrian Brown of Carterville. She put together rounds of 80 and 76, the latter marking her best score for 18 holes as a collegian. She tied for sixth overall to earn a medal.

Freshman Brittany Reynolds of Metropolis tied for 20th at 167 (84, 83).

Sophomore Reagan Keepes of Mount Carmel tied for 44th at 176 (91, 85).

Sophomore Payton Choate, a graduate of Trico High School, tied for 47th at 177 (90, 87) and freshman Mariah Bushue of Effingham tied for 50th at 178 (90, 88).

Competing as an individual and tying for 58th place was Madison Bushue at 182 (93, 89).

"All in all, I thought we put together a pretty good showing," said Vols head coach Bill Glenn. "Adrian shot a new personal best and we improved our team score over the previous weekend at Southern Indiana."

Logan will compete in a tournament hosted by Kaskaskia College this Friday at Greenview Golf Course in Centralia.
