CARTERVILLE – John A. Logan College will host its 40th annual AutumnFest Arts & Crafts Show on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15.  Show hours run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.  Admission and parking are free.

Exhibitors from throughout southern and central Illinois and surrounding states will have their original handcrafted gift items for sale, including jewelry, crafts, specialty foods, holiday decorations, toys, purses, clothing, home décor accessories, and many other items.

“AutumnFest is one of the largest events held at Logan, and we’re expecting 7,000 shoppers to attend,” said Emily Henson, coordinator of special events at JALC, who is organizing the event.  “We’ll have around 130 vendors at the show, and most of them have been in it before.  People will find many of their favorite items from past shows, and we’ll also have about 20 new exhibitors.  Lots of items can be personalized, and there will be so many unique and interesting products that I think everyone will find something they like.”

Henson said the event’s Pinterest board allows people to get an online preview of products that will be at the show.

“Our board on the Pinterest Web site shows some of the items that vendors will be selling and has their contact information and links to their Web sites,” Henson said.  “If people want to get an idea of what’s going to be available, they can check it out beforehand.  I also created a Facebook event for AuumnFest that has information about the show and has a link to the Pinterest board.”

Henson said the JALC Student Senate will be holding a silent auction fundraiser during the show.

“Members of the Student Senate requested donations from the exhibitors at AutumnFest,” she said.  “The donated items will be displayed so shoppers can bid on them, and they will be auctioned off at the show.  The money raised will go to the Angel Tree Project, which helps provide Christmas presents to needy children in the area.  Any questions about the silent auction should be directed to Adrienne Barkley Giffin, the advisor for Logan’s Student Senate.”
