CARTERVILLE – More than 400 area residents participated in the Italian dinner fundraiser hosted by the John A. Logan College Foundation Wednesday evening in the college’s cafeteria.

Tickets were $8 for adults and $5 for students with the proceeds benefiting JALC students in the form of scholarships.

“On behalf of the JALC Foundation I would like to thank everyone that helped make our 40th Annual Italian Dinner a success,” said Staci Shafer, Executive Director for the foundation. “It (the dinner) was a great opportunity to talk with our guests about the foundation and raise money for scholarships.”

Shafer acknowledged that the event wouldn’t be nearly as successful without the aid of student ambassadors as led by student recruiter, Joe Hines.

“It’s a remarkable group of students and they represent JALC very well,” Shafer said. “Also thanks to Chris Naegele and the maintenance department, which helped get everything done. I am always encouraged by the number of people willing to help out at our fundraisers. We appreciate each of them.”
