CARTERVILLE – John A. Logan College will host its annual Athletics Bowling Classic fundraiser at 1 p.m. Sunday at the S.I. Bowl in Carterville.

There are still several slots open in the 32-lane field to enter a five-person team. Cost is $50 per player or $250 per team. Registration that day begins at noon.

The event is sponsored by Koerner Distributor, Inc., Egypt Trophy, and 17th Street Bar and Grill.

Teams will compete in three games of nine-pin, no-tap bowling. Ball and shoe rental is included in the $50 fee. Refreshments will be provided, plus a complimentary gift and meal after the event.

Additionally, prizes will be awarded for High Game and High Series for both women and men; a championship plaque for team sponsor; and individual plaques for each championship team member.

“All the money we raise Sunday benefits JALC Athletics,” said Athletic Director Jerry Halstead. “This has been a longtime, productive fundraiser for us – one that we feel everyone thoroughly enjoys. We hope people will take the time to put teams together or sponsor a lane and support us in this endeavor. It’s fundraisers like these that help sustain our athletic programs, especially in a time of great financial need.”

If not bowling, business owners and other individuals can choose to sponsor a lane with signage provided at the event for $100.
