CARTERVILLE – Officials with John A. Logan College have announced that Gander Mountain of Marion has signed on as the title sponsor for the 2016 Southern Illinois Celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Days. This will be the 29th year of the event that attracts over 40,000 to the Carterville campus each September.

Other event sponsors include: Black Diamond Harley-Davidson, Williamson County Tourism Bureau, Illinois Office of Tourism, Take Pride in America Committee, Friends of Crab Orchard, and the Carterville McDonalds Moreland Bishop Corporation.

Event spokesman, Ron Allen, said that the outdoor store and the celebration are a natural fit.

“Our event has grown into one of the largest celebrations of National Hunting and Fishing Days in the country, and in recent years we have found that visitors to the event want products that cover every aspect of the outdoor industry,” Allen said. “Gander Mountain has everything you would need to live the outdoor lifestyle. With this partnership along with the event and vendors we planned, I believe this will be our biggest and best Hunting and Fishing Days event ever."

The Southern Illinois Celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Days will take place September 24 and 25 on the Carterville campus of John A. Logan College.  Visit www.sihfd.org for more information.
