CARTERVILLE--The John A. Logan College men’s golf team has finished at or near the top of every tournament they have played in this fall. That trend continued this week as the Volunteer links squad finished second to host UT Martin at the Skyhawk Fall Classic at Paris Landing State Golf Course in Paris, Tenn.

JALC sophomore Hunter York continued his hot play, capturing medalist honors with a 6-under par 210 (70-69-71). The team shot a three-day total of 865 (288-286-291), beating out Murry State, Austin Peay, and four other Division 1 four-year schools.

In addition to the second-place finish this week, the Volunteers won three tournaments this fall, taking first place at the Region XXIV Preview Tournament, the Vincennes University Invitational, and their own JALC Fall Invitational. Logan also finished in third place at the District IV Preview last week in Brewton, Ala.

The Skyhawk Fall Classic marked the end of the fall tune-up season. The Vols will resume play in the spring as they chase another national title.
