INA–The John A. Logan College men’s and women’s basketball teams claimed road wins at Rend Lake Wednesday night.

The Volunteer men won, 84-59, after leading just 38-31 at the half.  The Vols started the second half with a 12-0 run and never looked back. The Warriors (5-2 and 1-1) pulled within 11 points at 67-56 but never got closer as the Vols hit 26-of-33 free throws for the game.

Logan put six men in double-figures led by Chad Culbreath with 22, 18 in the first half. Allen Billenger had 12 points, Jalen Perry and Anthony Campbell added 11 each, and Will Robinson and Jerome Davis each scored 10.

The Volunteers, 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the league will host Kaskaskia on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The Lady Vols led virtually the entire game in claiming a 63-55 road win.  Tiaunna Watkins, the nation’s leading scorer, led Logan with 18 points including 8-of-9 from the foul line. Destiny Cozart chipped in 15 points for the Lady Vols.

The Logan women, 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference, will host Kaskaskia on Saturday at 1 p.m.
