July 26, 2017
CARTERVILLE – John A. Logan basketball coach Kyle Smithpeters has announced that Logan has signed two more players for the upcoming season.
Jaiveon Eaves, 6-3, who played in 27 games for the Evansville Aces last season and Ben Moss, 5-11, who played in 25 games for North Iowa College, have signed letters of intent to join the Volunteers.
“Eaves and Moss both have a year of college experience and should really help us this season,” Smithpeters said. “Eaves has a year of playing in the Missouri Valley Conference with strong games against Northern Iowa and Wichita State. He can shoot, pull up and go to the rim.”
“Moss averaged 11.4 points per game at North Iowa shooting 41% from three and 77% from the line while averaging 3.1 assists per game. He has great range and is a very heady player and a natural leader. Moss can play any of the guard positions.”
Originally from Owensboro, Ky., Moss said he chose Logan because of the Volunteers player development. “I think the program at Logan will help me reach my full potential,” Moss said. “The strong part of my game is my leadership and ability to control a game. I am also a good defender.”
Eaves played high school basketball at North Hopkins in Madisonville, Ky. At Evansville, he averaged 3.0 points and 1.7 rebounds per game as a true freshman. “I’m really looking forward to playing at Logan, Eaves said. “When I visited I really loved the Logan facilities and I felt wanted. Coach Smithpeters recruited me hard.”
