The Vols’ Brian Whitson continues his winning ways leading a pack of Division 1 players during a tournament hosted by the University of Tennessee at Martin (UT-Martin). Overall, John A. Logan College took third in the tournament which featured 12 teams including Tennessee State, Alabama State, Murray State, and Missouri Baptist among others.

UT-Martin won the tournament held at the Skyhawk Classic on Monday at Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, Tn. Murray State came in second.

But John A. Logan College — who has come out of the gates red hot winning its first two tournaments — brought home the tournament’s third-place trophy.

In the meanwhile, Whitson, who, individually, won the two previous tournaments, also shined in Tennessee leading a large field of other golfers.

“He (Whitson) is playing at a very high level right now,” said Logan’s head golf coach Tom Ferris. “I’m very proud of his individual efforts and this team’s efforts as a whole.”
