Students will be treated to host of activities during the first week of classes. A First Day Bash with free pizza served by the Men’s Basketball Team will take place August 15 from 11 AM to 12:30 PM in the Waterfall Courtyard. Yard games will be provided by Student Activities in the Courtyard as well. Logan Fitness will have an open gym, fitness assessments and games.

Student Activities will be giving out welcome kits containing a JALC planner, 4 color-ink pen, and other helpful information. The planners were designed by members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society to help students with time management and encourage student involvement. Currently enrolled students that do not get a welcome kit can pick-up a student planner at B29 the Information Desk while supplies last.

A Welcome Cookout with a free hot dog lunch for students and employees will be served and provided by the College Administration on Wednesday, August 22 in the Waterfall Courtyard. Disc golf, music, and spike ball will be provided by Logan Fitness.

Director of Student Activities Adrienne Barkley Giffin hopes students take advantage of the opportunity to get to know the College and their fellow students.

“This is a great opportunity for new students to get comfortable with their college,” said Giffin. “I hope that all students see how much fun it can be to get involved with clubs and organizations. Because it not only introduces them to new people, it is also a proven fact that students that get involved are more successful.”
