Logan Fitness Your One Stop Shop for a Healthy New Year

If your plans for 2020 include a healthier version of yourself then Logan Fitness on the campus of John A. Logan College is a place to check out. Logan Fitness houses a state-of-the-art fitness center and aquatic center with a variety of membership packages.
Students taking six or more credit hours during the spring semester receive access to the facilities via the student activity fee. Community members have a choice between an annual membership for $300 or a spring semester membership for $115. Senior citizens and veterans pay $264 for the annual membership or $99 for the semester. Annual membership is for one year from the day of purchase. Individuals can also register for fitness, aquatic, and Silver Sneakers Classes and inquire about personal training and party rentals.
The facility is open Monday through Friday 5:30 AM to 8:30 PM, 5:30 AM to 6PM on Saturdays, and Noon-6PM on Sundays with the exception of some holidays. The fitness center includes aerobic and weight training machines, free weights, dumbbells, and a 1/16 mile walking track, 12 treadmills, 24 bicycles, 12 elliptical gliders, 2 stair climbers and 2 rowing machines. The Aquatic Center consists of two pools. The 75' x 58' lap pool is kept at 83-84 degrees and ranges in depth from 3.5 feet to 10 feet. The 68' x 39' therapy pool is kept at 92 degrees and ranges in depth from 1 inch to 5 feet.
In addition to the fitness and aquatic centers Southern Illinois Healthcare operates a walk-in clinic inside the facility. This clinic is open to the public. Services are available to treat allergies, abrasions, burns, cuts, fevers, infections, influenza, sprains, sore throat, and upper respiratory and other minor illnesses.
According to Bradley Griffith, Director of Logan Fitness, is a place for everyone.
“What I love about Logan Fitness is the friendly family like environment that we have cultivated,” said Griffith. “Anyone should feel comfortable at Logan Fitness regardless of their fitness level.
Griffith added that Logan Fitness offers events throughout the year like the recent Snowman Shuffle 5K and the Pumpkin Plunge in the fall.
“We love being involved in the community and promoting fitness to all ages,” said Griffith. “I really encourage anyone interested in fitness or improved health to come visit us. We really do have something for everyone.”
