In honor of Black History Month, John A. Logan College will host a Spring Diversity Challenge on Wednesday, February 9. The event is open to the public and begins at 9 AM. Those interested in attending should contact the Diversity and Inclusion Office, 618-985-2828, Ext. 8586.
The event begins at 9 AM in the John A. Logan College Conference Center with Keynote Speaker Darrel Dexter, author of Bondage in Egypt: Slavery in Southern Illinois. Following the Keynote, a panel discussion on diversity and education will begin at 10:15. Afternoon break-out sessions include: Creating Inclusive Classroom for Culturally Diverse and Minority Students, Disability Services, and Fostering Belonging in Challenging Times.
