Complete at least twelve (12) credit hours in residence at John A. Logan College for an Associate Degree and six (6) credit hours for a Certificate.
Students should apply for graduation the semester prior to completing all required coursework for the degree. The College awards degrees each semester, however, there is only one graduation ceremony held each year at the end of the spring semester. Students must apply by Friday, March 28, 2025 to participate and walk in the commencement ceremony and have their names displayed in the ceremony program. Even if you do not intend to participate in commencement, you must complete the Gradation Application in order to have the degree(s) awarded and noted on the official transcript.
To order your graduation regalia, go to Balfour Build-A-Grad. Cap, gown, and tassel will cost $17.00. Students have the option to ship to campus for free or ship to home for $12.95. If students choose ship to campus, the campus General Store will notify students of a pick-up date. The deadline to order your graduation regalia is March 30, 2025. Students may decorate graduation caps for the commencement ceremony. Please check your student Volmail for regalia details and other graduation updates.
John A. Logan College Graduates
John A. Logan College partners with Parchment to offer a free digital and print diploma after graduation.
To claim your digital diploma, graduates will receive an email and text notification with instructions on how to claim your credential(s). Your digital diploma will always be accessible through your Parchment account at no cost to you!
Follow these simple steps:
Check your Volmail and text messages for the award notification.
Follow the link to set up your Parchment digital credentials account. If you have ordered a transcript from Parchment, you will log in with the same credentials used previously to place your transcript order.
Share your digital diploma on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter and use #jalcgrad or download a secure .pdf version.
Update your email address on Parchment from your Volmail to a personal email. This will allow you to access your credential(s) after your Volmail is deactivated. See “How to Change your Email/Merge Accounts on Parchment” tutorial video.
A print diploma will be mailed to you within 6-8 weeks after the conferred date of graduation. When claiming your credential, Parchment will ask you to verify your mailing address. If you fail to update your mailing address within 72 hours of your diploma notification message, you must call Admissions and Records to update your address on file. If a student needs an additional print diploma, additional or replacement copies cost $20 and should be ordered through Parchment.
To request an official final transcript with your degree or certificate, see our Request a Transcript webpage.
