International Students

Admission Process – International students will be considered for admission after required materials are received by a designated school official (DSO) by the deadlines listed below.

  1. Apply for admission to the college using the international student application. All applicants who are not United States citizens should use the international student application.
  2. The applicant will be contacted by a DSO at the email provided on the application to communicate next steps specific to the applicant’s international type
  3. Proof of sufficient available funds is required of some international types and will be included in the DSO’s email to the applicant.

English Proficiency – International students are required to provide proof of English proficiency.

  • TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language
    • Internet-based Test (iBT): 79, Paper Test: 548, Computer Test: 212
    • TOEFL Code Number for John A. Logan College: 1357
  • IELTS – International English Language Testing System: 6.5
  • PTE – Pearson Test of English: 53
  • DET – Duolingo English Test: 110
  • Exemptions and other acceptable forms of proof will be included in the DSO’s email to the applicant after they apply for admission to the college.
  • John A. Logan College does not have English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. The nearest ESL resources are available through the Center for English as a Second Language | Southern Illinois University (siu.edu).
