In-District Residency Requirements

An in-district student at John A. Logan College, District No. 530, for tuition purposes is defined as a person who can establish proof of residency within the legal boundaries of District No. 530. Proof of in-district residency is required for students to receive the in-district tuition rate. Students should submit proof of residency within the first 14 days of a 16-week, 12-week or 10-week course and within the first 7 days of an 8-week, 5-week, or 4-week course. In addition, the student must have occupied a dwelling within the district for at least 30 days before the first day of class to be classified as a resident. If a student submits documentation after the set deadline, the change of residency will take effect for the following semester.

Students who are currently under the legal guardianship of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services or have been recently emancipated from the Department and had a placement change into a new community college district, shall be exempt from the 30-day requirement if they demonstrate proof of current in-district residency.

To determine if you may meet requirements for in-district tuition, please see our District Map.
