Principles of design and operation provide for an exact appreciation of the functions of automotive units. Coordinated laboratory work develops the ability to execute diagnostic tests and complete the repairs that are indicated.

The Automotive Services Technology Hybrid/EV Certificate is a minimum of 5 credit hours. Please use our Tuition and Fees page to calculate your approximate cost.

  1. Automotive Systems Knowledge: Students will demonstrate an understanding of various automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, drivetrains, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and HVAC.
  2. Diagnostic Skills: Students should be proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting common automotive issues using diagnostic tools, software, and manual testing methods.
  3. Service Manual Interpretation: Students can read and interpret service manuals, technical diagrams, and repair procedures to effectively service and repair vehicles.
  4. Automotive Technology: Students understand the latest advancements in automotive technology.
  5. Safety Practices: Students can follow proper safety protocols and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when working in an automotive environment.
