SUMMER | CAMPUS SUPPORT SERVICES | Office Support. Making copies (no tests or quizzes), delivering paper cases from the CSS storage room, assisting with bindery jobs, student printing & faculty/staff pickup window, distributing incoming mail to mailboxes, answering phones, assisting print operator with campus distributions, and 1x daily delivery of mail to college offices. Process bulk mailings as needed, daily processing of mail using postage equipment, occasional delivery of bulk mailings and/or certified mail to local post office in Carterville. This position requires daily interaction between faculty, staff, and students. Must have own transportation. Must be able to lift heavy objects. Other duties as assigned. MUST BE AVAILABLE ON TUESDAY AND THURSDAY. |
COMMUNITY EDUCATION | Secretary. Answering phones, greeting clients and students, data entry, typing, copying, filing, ordering supplies, running errands on campus, assisting with mailings, stocking supplies, prepare instructor packets, working with spreadsheets, using the Time Clock system. MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL WORK-STUDY. MUST BE AVAILABLE MONDAY TO THURSDAY FROM 8AM TO 4:30PM. | |
HUMAN RESOURCES | Secretary. Answer telephone, typing, filing, operating copy and fax machine, hand out applications and questionnaires for new employees, also some computer skills needed. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. | |
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY | IT Support Technician. This position requires a student who can work independently, without direct supervision and have a knowledge of computer hardware/software troubleshooting and repair Experience with A/V (audio/visual) equipment, such as projectors, document cameras, audio mixer systems are preferred, but not required. Ability to analyze and problem solve issues face to face and over the phone. Clearly report computer issues and solutions to users and/or help desk personnel. Must be able to clearly describe computer issues and solutions in writing for entry into work order tracking system. Specific duties include, but not limited to: Provide assistance with installation, troubleshooting, and removal of A/V and/or computing equipment. Assist I.T. staff with daily work order assignments, completion of work order records, monitoring computer labs, assist in helpdesk duties and other duties as assigned. Be able to follow directions and work independently on tasks and projects. Have the desire to learn new tasks that range from simple to complex. Dependable, prompt, and be a team player. LOGAN FITNESS | Lifeguard. Prevention of injury through surveillance of pool patrons and enforcement of rules. Emergency Response provides appropriate standard of care. Secondary duties as described in Lifeguard Manual. Some shifts may also be assigned to the supervisor's desk. Lifeguard supervisor will monitor patrons entering the pool to ensure proper registration. MUST BE LIFEGUARD CERTIFIED. | |
NURSING | Secretary. Assist the Director and Administrative Assistant with secretarial duties as assigned such as data entry, copying, answering phones, running errands, filing and sending out mailings. Greet and assist students upon entry to the nursing office. Assist faculty with various needs. Help log and file student immunizations and required information for student files. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. | |
SCHEDULING | Secretary. Typing, filing, answer telephones, process mail, copying, scanning, shredding and provide customer service. Post schedule of events on Screen Scape. Put up room cards for events in the conference center. Help prepare for various office projects and activities for the Historical Village, Hunting Fishing Days, AutumnFest and window displays. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. | |
FALL | ADMISSIONS & RECORDS | Secretary. Help prospective and current students with in-person transcript requests and residency verification. Run errands on campus as requested by Admissions staff or Assistant Provost for Student Affairs. Answer office phones and display exemplary customer service skills to all prospective and current students. Assist with campus events and activities as well as recruitment events for prospective high school students. Assist with stocking and opening Snack Locker for students. File graduation applications for all students. |
HEATING & AIR | Lab Assistant. The student worker will be responsible for setting up HVAC equipment, tool shop organization and assisting students with tools and equipment during lab. Second year student preferred. | |
INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH | Secretary. General office work including data entry, typing, filing, photocopying of documents and receptionist duties. Possibility to create and execute data related projects related to enhancing the student experience and outreach to JALC students. Worker will also perform campus-related errands and deliveries. Occasional light housekeeping duties as assigned. Dependability is a must! Good computer skills-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc. Excellent communication skills and detail oriented. Ability to work well with others. Willingness to tackle new projects. MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL WORK-STUDY. | |

STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER | All Subject Tutors. Provide learning assistance to students experiencing difficulty with a class. Meet with assigned students on a regular basis. Maintain records of tutoring sessions. Have demonstrated knowledge of and competence in the courses you tutor, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills. AN A OR B IS REQUIRED TO BE A TUTOR. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. | |
STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER | Office Assistant. The SSC Office Assistant answers the office telephone and schedules appointments for Disability Support Services, TRIO, and Tutoring Center staff. Also helps with DSS program by preparing letters for students, assists note takers and tutors with documentation, and enters tutoring information into a database. This person is responsible for copying and sending notes for students utilizing note taker services. They also schedule and prepare testing rooms and scan tests. The SSC Office Assistant also schedules appointments for test readers and scribes. Assistance is provided to staff of the Student Success center by copying materials, preparing packets, assisting with social media outreach, and providing information to students, as well as other duties related to special programs and events.
