Associate in Applied Science
The Cosmetology program at John A. Logan College is designed to give students thorough training in the arts, skills, and applied sciences that deal with adornment through care and treatment of the hair, nails, and skin. Students who enroll in this program experience hands-on cosmetology training and have their creativity on full display in a working salon on our campus. Students in this program are taught the latest hair trends, nail techniques, make-up skills, waxing, and skin care as well as the theories behind these techniques.
The Cosmetology program meets the standards of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in terms of total hours, teaching staff, equipment, facilities, library, and course content. Graduates are prepared for licensure by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation-Division of Professional Regulation, State of Illinois, upon passing the Illinois Cosmetology examination.
