John A. Logan’s Dental Assisting program will prepare you with the skills and knowledge necessary for the many tasks required to provide quality dental care. As a member of a dental health care team, you are responsible for providing services as assisting the Dentist with operative and surgical procedures, manipulation of dental materials, exposing radiographs, treatment room, and patient preparation.

The Dental Assisting program at JALC will provide classroom, lab, and clinical instruction. Students who complete this program will be clinically proficient, recognize their role as invaluable members of the dental health team, and be sensitive to the dental needs of various communities.

What You Can Do

Career opportunities include employment in a private dental office or state facility which includes working directly with the dentist, laboratory duties, and office experiences.

Students must maintain a grade of “C” or higher in all courses.

The Dental Assisting Certificate is a minimum of 28 credit hours. Please use our Tuition and Fees page to calculate your approximate cost.
