Cost of Attendance

Cost of Attendance Budget

A cost of attendance (COA) budget is used by the financial aid office to estimate the expenses a student might incur while attending college during an academic year. It does not reflect the actual costs a student will pay from their own funds to attend college. Cost of attendance budgets include allowances for tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, transportation and miscellaneous or personal expenses. An allowance for childcare or dependent care expenses can also be included. The COA budget helps the financial aid office determine a student’s financial need once the FAFSA has been filed.
