Coordinator of Institutional Effectiveness and Research

Description:

The Coordinator of Institutional Effectiveness and Research plays a pivotal role in supporting John A. Logan College’s efforts to assess, evaluate, and enhance effectiveness. This position involves collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data that supports strategic planning, program evaluations, and institutional decision-making. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to ensure the institution meets its goals for student success, retention, and academic performance.

Education & Experience Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Higher Education, Institutional Research, Public Policy, Statistics, or Social Sciences)

Experience:

  • At least one year of experience with survey administration and assessment software administration
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to various audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other data management tools
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness

Essential Functions & Position Duties

  • Institutional Effectiveness & Assessment:
    • Coordinate institutional effectiveness activities and maintain learning outcomes data for accreditation, regulatory bodies, and continuous improvement
    • Collaborate with faculty and administrators to create and analyze assessment reports for academic and non-academic programs
    • Key contact for all assessment software configuration, administration, and training
  • Research & Data Analysis:
    • Conduct data analysis to support institutional research projects, including surveys, focus groups, and institutional studies
    • Subject matter expert on all Surveys and Course Evaluations conducted by John A. Logan College
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on research findings to inform institutional decision-making
    • Design and implement methods for collecting, analyzing, and presenting quantitative and qualitative data related to student success, retention, etc.
  • Strategic Planning & Reporting:
    • Work with senior administration to develop and support the institution’s strategic planning processes
    • Prepare ad hoc reports on institutional performance, comparing benchmarks and trends within the educational sector 

Non-essential functions of the position
Other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location.

Hours: 8:00 – 4:30, Monday – Friday

Salary Range: $40,000 – $53,000
