Rules & Regulations

  1. Exercise at your own risk.
  2. Must be 15 years of age or older to use the Logan Fitness facilities, except for children’s instructor-led classes.
  3. Logan Fitness is not responsible for unsupervised children.
  4. Respect other patrons.
  5. Abusive language will not be tolerated.
  6. Glass containers are not allowed in any part of the Logan Fitness facilities.
  7. Threatening or Violent behavior is not allowed, Campus Police will be called to handle any situations of this kind.
  8. Flammable materials, dangerous chemicals, explosives or weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited inside the lockers and on JALC campus and inside the Logan Fitness Facility.
  9. Perishable items, illegal or controlled substances such as drugs or alcohol are also strictly prohibited on JALC Campus and inside the Logan Fitness facility.
  10. Any criminal activity will be reported to the JALC Campus Police and/or the Carterville Police Department. Logan Fitness is required to provide police with access in the event of a criminal investigation.
  11. Payment for memberships, classes, or any Logan Fitness services is required upon registration.
  12. Upon closing time, patrons have a 5-minute grace period to evacuate the locker rooms.
  13. Misuse of the facility may lead to termination of facility privileges.

  6. No equipment may leave this room at any time.
  7. No horseplay allowed.
  8. No food, gum, or drink allowed (except bottled water).
  9. Clean, appropriate athletic attire must cover the chest and buttocks.
  10. Athletic shoes covering the entire foot must be worn around the facility at all times.
  11. Chalk is prohibited.
  12. No running allowed on the indoor track. Walking at a brisk pace is allowed.
  13. To help with the spread of germs, patrons are encouraged to wipe down the machines before and after use with the provided hand wipes.
  14. Respect equipment and other patrons.
  15. Misuse of the facility may lead to termination of facility privileges.

  9. All fitness center dress code rules apply.
  10. Tennis shoes must be worn at all times.

  1. Swim at your own risk. Lifeguards are provided as a last line of safety. Do not swim alone.
  2. Must be age 15 or older to enter during open swim times.
  3. Open swim hours are available only to those with a current Logan Fitness membership or who have purchased a one-day-pass.
  4. Children under the age of 12 who are participating in swim lessons/classes must have an adult 18+ on deck at all times.
  5. Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing safety rules and responding to emergencies. Parents or guardians should supervise their children.
  6. All members are required to check-in prior to use.
  7. Patrons using the pool are required to take a shower with soapy water before entering the water. All apparel worn in the pool shall be clean and sanitary.
  8. Return equipment neatly to the original location.
  9. Patrons may not enter the pool before open swim begins and are expected to promptly exit the pool when open swim has completed.
  10. Glass, soap, or other material that might create hazardous conditions or interfere with efficient operation of the swimming pool shall not be permitted in the aquatic center.
  11. No food, drink, gum, or tobacco are allowed in the aquatic center. Bottled water only.
  12. The pool water is not suitable for drinking. Please avoid swallowing pool water.
  13. Spitting, spouting of water, blowing the nose or otherwise introducing contaminants into the swimming pool is not permitted.
  14. Dress code in the pools:
  • Allowed: Modest one or two piece swimsuits, swim trunks, and compression-type material, water shoes
  • Not allowed: Cotton clothing including t-shirts and basketball shorts, thong/ g–string swimsuit bottoms, tennis shoes
  1. Diaper-dependent guests are required to wear swim diapers or those specifically designed for aquatics.
  2. Admission to the pool is refused to all persons having any contagious disease, infectious conditions such as colds, fever, ringworm, foot infections, skin lesions, carbuncles, boils, inflamed eyes, ear discharges or any other condition which has the appearance of being infectious.  Persons with excessive sunburn, abrasions which have not healed, adhesive tape, rubber bandages or other bandages of any kind will not be permitted.  A person under the influence of alcohol or exhibiting erratic behavior shall not be permitted admittance to the pool area.
  3. Two or more swimmers may use each lap lane – please ask first to share a lane.
  4. Dive only in water over 5 feet deep. Flips from the deck or diving blocks are not permitted. Caution should be exercised when using the diving blocks.
  5. Please use the following pool entry options:
  • Therapy Pool: Stair with railings, 4 ladders, chair lift
  • Lap Pool: 4 ladders, Easy Step, chair lift
  1. Use only US Coast Guard-approved floatation devices.
  2. Walk at all times. No running is allowed.
  3. Do not hang on safety ropes or lane lines.
  4. Personal conduct within the aquatic center shall not jeopardize the safety of self and others. Do not ride on shoulders, dunk, push or participate in horseplay.
  5. The pool management has the authority to implement and enforce rules that are more stringent or that supplement those listed here.
  1. All lockers are the property of JALC and Logan Fitness.
  2. Logan Fitness is not responsible for lost or stolen locker items. We strongly recommend that valuables not be stored in your locker.
  3. All items left outside of the locker, whether secured or not, will be removed to our Lost and Found area. These items are disposed of at the end of each semester.
  4. Locks may not be left on a locker overnight unless a locker rental for that locker has been paid in full.
  5. If a locker rental has expired, it is the responsibility of the patron to remove their contents by the expiration date. A one-week grace period will be given, at which time the lock will be cut and the items removed.
  6. Maximum age of a child of the opposite gender in a locker room is 6 years old.
  7. Patrons may not sit nude on the benches due to hygiene concerns.
  8. Patrons may not adjust settings on the sauna.
  9. Patrons must shower with soapy water prior to entering the sauna.
  10. Standing on the locker room benches is strictly prohibited.
  11. The bathroom stalls are reserved for using the restroom and should not be used for changing clothes.
  12. Individuals needing assistance may use the assisted/staff locker room if accompanied by a helper.
  13. Transgender individuals who wish not to use the standard locker rooms may utilize one of the three stalls in the Family/Gender Neutral changing area.
  14. Misuse of the facility may lead to termination of facility privileges.
  1. Leave your ego at the door.
  2. Do not hog a single machine for a prolonged time.
  3. Always re-rack your weights.
  4. Never slam weights.
  5. Do not use inappropriate language.
  6. Refrain from obnoxiously loud noises/grunts.
  7. Keep your music to yourself—use headphones.
  8. Do not leave your gear lying around—use the locker room!
  9. Watch for walkers on the track.
  10. Do not give unsolicited advice to other members.
  11. Respect personal space.
  12. Respect personal time—not everyone wants a social hour.
  13. Use the facility hand wipes to clean after yourself.
  14. If you move equipment, always move it back.
  15. If you don’t know, ask.

Memberships

  1. Membership refunds shall only be given for clerical errors. For example, if a Logan Fitness employee did not apply the correct membership discount. No other membership refunds shall be approved for any reason.
  2. In the case of a medical issue or injury, the member may request to have their membership frozen and for a prorated amount to be re-applied to their account for later use. No payment shall be returned. A doctor’s note must be provided.
  3. Recurring monthly memberships may be canceled at any time for any reason after the first full month’s charge.

3.1. A recurring monthly membership must be canceled BEFORE the 25th of each month. If a member requests a refund for a recurring monthly membership after the charge has already been applied, no refund may be given.

Classes

  1. Refunds of 100% will be made for non-credit fitness/aquatics classes if a refund request is received prior to the beginning of the third class session. After this time, no refunds shall be approved.
  2. Refunds of 100% will be processed if a class is cancelled due to low enrollment or other reason.
  3. Class refunds shall be approved for clerical errors. For example, if a Logan Fitness employee registered the member for the incorrect class. No other class refunds shall be approved for any reason.
  4. Due to the nature of the group swim lesson classes having small enrollment caps for safety reasons and often quickly reaching capacity, no refunds shall be approved for group swim lesson classes for any reason. All purchases of group swim lesson classes are final.
  5. In the case that a member requests to be transferred from one class to another (for personal preferences and not due to an employee error), a difference in cost resulting in a surplus for the member shall be applied to that member’s account for use of future Logan Fitness purchases. No refunds shall be processed in this instance. If the class transfer requires additional payment, the member shall be required to pay the difference at the time of transfer.

Party Rentals

  1. Once a party reservation is confirmed via email confirmation, any cancelation made prior to 48 hours before the start of the rental shall receive a 50% refund. Any cancelations made within 48 hours of the start of the rental time shall not be refundable.

General Refund Procedures

  1. All Logan Fitness purchases that are not a class, membership, or party rental shall be 100% non-refundable. This includes items such as locker rentals, day passes, merchandise, apparel, private swim lessons, personal training packages, body scans, etc.
  2. All refund requests shall be submitted online or via paper form at the facility.
  3. Refunds that are approved may take up to 3 weeks for processing.
  4. ALL refunds approved shall only be distributed via credit card. NO refunds shall be returned via cash or check (except same day cash refunds – see below).

13.1. If a purchase was made on a credit card, the approved refund shall be applied back to that same credit card.

13.2. If a purchase was made via cash or check, the member with approved refund must either provide a credit card for the refund to be applied or accept a credit on account for future Logan Fitness purchases.

  1. If a member cannot be reached within 2 weeks to provide information necessary to process a refund, that refund shall be canceled and may not be re-approved.
  2. Cash refunds may be given on same-day only.
  1. Clean, appropriate athletic attire must cover the chest and buttocks.
  2. Athletic shoes covering the entire foot must be worn around the facility at all times.
  3. The following items are not allowed: boots, flip flops, sandals, Crocs, bare feet, bare socks, jeans, cargo shorts, or other non-athletic apparel that may be harmful to the equipment.
  4. Modest swim apparel only (no thong swim suits).
  1. During non-staffed hours, all exterior doors at Logan Fitness will be locked.
  2. Individuals with ACTIVE membership may scan the barcode reader using their Logan Fitness app or physical scan card to gain entry. This will be available at two locations – the west entrance (facing Huck’s gas station) and the south entrance (facing Route 13).
  3. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that all 24/7 users purchase a physical scan card to serve as backup for entry in case of issues with the Logan Fitness app during non-business hours.
  4. Upon successful scan, the door will temporarily unlock and automatically open.
  5. ABSOLUTELY NO GUESTS are allowed to enter the facility during non-staffed hours.
  6. All members must scan in individually before entering the facility, even if entering with another member.
  7. The facility will be monitored via surveillance cameras which may be reviewed for safety/security purposes.
  8. The facility will NOT always be supervised during non-business hours. Exercise at your own risk.
  9. Allowing a guest to enter the facility during non-business hours will result in permanent revocation of membership.
  10. During non-business hours, the only accessible areas in the facility will be the main fitness center, the free weight room, and the restrooms. Attempt to gain access to any other locations within the facility will result in permanent revocation of membership.
  11. In case of emergency, call 911. JALC campus police may also be contacted at (618) 985-2828 Ext. 8218.
  12. Members are responsible for using equipment properly and safely. Any malfunctioning equipment should be reported to loganfitness@jalc.edu or by leaving a note in the comment box that is located on the east counter near the water fountains.
  13. Members are expected to clean up after themselves and maintain cleanliness in the facility.
  14. Members are not allowed to stay overnight in the fitness center. Access is strictly for the purpose of exercise during designated hours.
  15. All other fitness center policies apply during non-business hours.

Violation of any of the above policies may result in revocation of membership.
