If you are using a military education benefit that pays you a monthly stipend, you can look up your pay chart here: https://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/resources/benefits_resources/rate_tables.asp

Typically, VA payments are released the first week of every month that you are enrolled in classes.
There are many things that affect when you receive your payments. Your school must submit your enrollment to VA for processing to begin. If it’s the first time you are using benefits, it will take longer to process your payment than if you are re-enrolling. In general, it takes about a month to process an original claim, and about a week for a re-enrollment.
Processing times are longer in the fall than during other terms due to the volume of claims VA receives.
If you are receiving benefits under MGIB-AD (Chapter 30) or MGIB-SR (Chapter 1606), you must also verify your enrollment at the end of each month in order to receive payment for that month. Benefits are paid after each month of school is completed. You will generally receive payment within two weeks of verifying your enrollment at the end of the month (or within one week if using Direct Deposit). To check on the status of an Education benefit payment, please call 888-GIBILL-1 (888-442-4551). You can select the option for an automated update, or speak to a claims specialist.
Effective December 17, 2021 all Post 9/11 GI Bill®(Chapter 33) users will be required to verify their attendance. This will be done the last day of every month the student is enrolled. This can be done by calling VA directly, using your W.A.V.E. website or you can sign up for VA’s text messaging verification service.

Remember, the first and last month of each semester is prorated. You are only paid for the number of days that classes are in session (weekends and holidays are included. Example: Classes started on August 12th. Classes were in session for 20 of the 31 days in August. To calculate your estimated payment, divide your total monthly stipend payment by 31 and then multiply that amount by the number of days in session.
You can purchase books from the JALC bookstore; online or in person. Please visit their website to find out how to do so: https://jalc.ecampus.com
You can get your ISBN number from your syllabus, schedule, or the bookstore website. Currently, there is only one military education benefit that assists with purchasing books; Chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation.
If you have not received your monthly stipend payment, call or email your assigned Chapter 31 counselor. They will be able to assist you. DO NOT call St. Louis VA RPO as they will not be able to answer your questions.
