The Assistant Director of Institutional Research position plays a crucial role as the key person for completing all state and federal reporting requirements for John A. Logan College. This includes, but is not limited to: creating, maintaining, and staying up-to-date on changes to reporting requirements for state and federal agencies; creating data reports and/or dashboards to assist with the interpretation of the data by various stakeholders at the college; and providing actionable insights to support the institution’s strategic plan.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education required: Bachelor’s degree in related field (Computer Science; Management of Information Systems; Business Management/Administration; Mathematics; or Statistics)
Experience required: Five years’ experience in data management/data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques; demonstrated ability to interpret and present data; understanding of programming languages such as SQL, R, or similar for data manipulation and analysis; familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar software; strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail; experience working in a higher education or institutional research environment is desirable; and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
