John A. Logan College is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position in Digital Media Technology to begin Fall 2024. Education & Experience Requirements:

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Digital Media, Multimedia Design, Media Arts, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, New Media Design, or closely related field

Experience Required: The candidate must have three years of work experience in professional media design and production; demonstrated proficiency in digital media technology tools and software

Education Preferred: Master’s degree in one of the following: Digital Media, Multimedia Design, Media Arts, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, New Media Design, or closely related field

Experience Preferred: Five or more years of work experience in professional media design and production; prior community college teaching experience.

Essential Functions & Position Duties:

Foster and promote a collegial atmosphere, prioritizing student learning and success. Deliver high-quality instruction in various digital media technology courses, including layout design, typography, video game design, animation, and other relevant subjects. Develop new courses that cater to the needs of the diverse student population and adapt to the evolving educational landscape. Fulfill contractual obligations covering the academic year, consisting of fall and spring semesters. Teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester and hold eight office hours per week for student consultation during each of the fall and spring semesters. Additional teaching opportunities with compensation may be available in the summer semester. Be available to teach classes during the day, evenings, and/or weekends as per the schedule of classes. Full-time faculty members are provided with private offices and have access to excellent support services. Non-Essential functions of the position:

Other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location.
