Student Navigator – Logan Academy

Job Type: Professional

Description:

The Student Navigator reports to the Manager of Logan Academy, and is responsible for providing intake and support services for students enrolling in Adult Education programming through Logan Academy to enhance student enrollment, retention, completion, and transition.

Education & Experience Requirements
Education: Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited college or university in the filed of social work, counseling, education, or related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time work experience in related field; provided career, technical, and/or academic counseling to non-traditional student populations
Preferred Experience: Work with Adult Education (AE) population

Essential Functions & Position Duties

  • Provide academic and career counseling to AE students
  • Provide support services to AE students, reducing barriers to attendance and engagement
  • Provide case management; ensure students connect with and utilize support services from community partners
  • Conduct new student orientations/registrations and assessments
  • Monitor student progress toward attaining educational and transitional goals
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of program activities
  • Assist in data collection, review, and entry, using EMS
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with community partners and colleagues
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
    Non-essential functions of the position
    Other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location.

Hours: 8:00 – 4:30, Monday – Friday

Salary range starts at: $40,000
